OoC-04 (Memorandum-08)

Transcript:

Hi, it’s Josh. I’ve got some more updates and things that wouldn’t make sense to do as a regular Memorandum, so here I am again out of character.

SCP-099 has been released, and with that we’ve now gotten through all of the two-digit SCPs after only… three years. Which was unexpected, but necessary, and I can’t thank you all enough for your patience. With my other responsibilities in life and my mental health, I can’t devote the amount of time to this podcast that I’d like. But that’s not what I wanted to talk about. So, here’s what’s coming up:

Next month, in December, we will be releasing a few of the early SCP-001 Proposals. This has actually been the plan since nearly the beginning: to do some of the 001s (or just one of them, depending on how big it is) every 100 episodes of the Main Series to act as a sort of… “season” finale, if you can call three-and-a-half years a season. We’ll do it again after SCP-199, 299, and so on. After the 001s go out in December, we’ll be taking a couple of months to regroup, take care of some admin, and plan for the next “season” before we return in March with SCP-100. There may or may not be a new episode in January and February leading up to that, but I really need to use that time to get my shit together and putting out new content will not be a priority again until March 2023. Our Patreon patrons, though, will continue to get their regularly scheduled bonus content over the break, as they always have been [sic].

By the way, guys, I just counted it up and there are currently 38 Joke episodes right now available to people who pledge on Patreon, in addition to several batches of outtakes, the audio plays (the scripts) for our more complicated episodes like 093 and 096, sheet music for the handful of episodes we’ve done that have music, and, in general, inside info about our goings-on behind the scenes. So, if you can’t wait until March for a new episode, you can head over to patreon.com/thescpfoundationdatabase where there’s plenty of content for you to listen to, read, and otherwise consume in the meantime. You also get access to the private Discord server for as little as a dollar, and… oh my god, the Discord is great, guys. I’ve gotten to meet so many wonderful people through the Discord, and the community our patrons have cultivated on there is probably the best thing to come out of this podcast. Knowing you’re responsible for people meeting each other and becoming friends is one of the best feelings.

Speaking of the Patreon and the cool people who’ve joined it, the Database Maintenance Staff would like to thank new Patreon patrons:
