OoC-02 (Memorandum-04)

Transcript:

Hi, this is Josh. This was going to be another Memorandum episode, but some of it would have felt weird to include in that format, so here we are again out-of-character.

First thing’s first: I felt you guys might like an update, since it’s taking a while to release our 087 episode. Everything’s fine, but my health has gotten a bit worse since we last spoke. I won’t go into detail——it’s all anxiety related, we’re pretty sure——and I’ve started taking steps to get better. But it makes it really difficult to concentrate right now, which is a big part of the hold-up on 087. Everything just takes a bit longer for me do right now. On top of that, 087 is the very first SCP I read nearly 10 years ago, so I’m kinda nervous about completing it and releasing it. All the dialogue’s recorded, it’s just a matter of doing the foley work and the editing. It’s coming, I just don’t know when. If it takes too much longer, we’ll release another simpler episode to fill the time. I’m sorry for the wait.

A few quick reminders, or news if you didn’t already know:

We have a website now. We have every episode up there, set up so you can listen and read along all in one place, for those of you who would like that option; the episode list has a handy search function since we have well over 100 episodes now; and we even include all of our Patreon-exclusive episodes in the list so non-patrons can see what exactly they’re missing. There’s also more information about us there, cast bios, and some ways you can support us if you’re interested in doing that. That website is www.scpdatapodcast.com, although using thescpfoundationdatabase.com will also bring you to the right place.

A reminder that we’re on Twitter, too (have been for a while), as @SCPDataPodcast; you can like us on Facebook if you haven’t already; and our email address is still scpdatapodcast@gmail.com if you have any comments or questions.

All of that info can be found in the episode description.

Finally, some Patreon news. In the past couple months, we’ve added a Discord server for our patrons, and added a very nice, exclusive Database enamel pin as a benefit for certain tiers. These were added to the other benefits our patrons already enjoy, including access to exclusive posts and outtakes, access to our monthly series of Joke SCPs, and the ability to request episodes on their favorite SCPs.

The funds our patrons pledge go toward things like monthly maintenance (things like hosting fees on Soundcloud, subscriptions for some of the editing programs I use, cloud space, website maintenance, PO Box rental fees, and a few other things), as well as allow us to slowly upgrade our audio equipment. Patreon is our only means of raising the money to keep this show running, so our patrons are to thank for that.

Speaking of which, the Database Maintenance Staff (that’s me and the cast) would like to thank new Patreon patrons: Abbylouwho, AgentHedgepiggle, Alex Adams, Alex Darby, Asteraceae, Basil Kisel, Benjamin Byers-Ferrian, BertBokSoup, Caden Huyett, Chelsea Brown and Wolfstar, Disownedbook16, DRBADAZZ, Elaina Black, GlassesWearingNerd, Jpz games, Liheng Wang, Mandi Kosunen, Martysnack, my mom, Oglesby Finlay, PixelatedDonut, Robert Groom, Sarah McLaurin, Terry Winchester, and Viola Sanderlin.

If you would like all the fancy benefits they get, you can join them in supporting the show at patreon.com/thescpfoundationdatabase.

Aaand that’s about it. Thanks for listening.
